Reform of the common agricultural policy

Proposals of the German association for landcare

Ansbach/Germany March 2006 - The German association for landcare (Deutscher Verband für Landschaftspflege, DVL) is the umbrella organisation of 137 regional landcare groups all over Germany. In this groups, farmers, conservationists and communities work voluntarily together to improve the environment. For example DVL gives advice to about 20.000 farmers who are involved in agri-environment schemes. DVL has discussed the Commission legislative proposals in its regional groups. As a result DVL is worried about the proposals and believes, that they don´t lead to a multifunctional and sustainable agricultural policy.
